January Blogging Meme - Day 2: Favourite Travel Experience

Favourite travel experience

This is tricky. Do I talk about in terms of the people I saw? The most exciting events that occurred? The most memorable?

I guess that if I have to recall any trip really fondly, it would be the trip to Atlanta for DragonCon 2009.

Between the massive convention experience, the writing seminar with Aaron Allston and Michael A Stackpole, the catchup with friends at the convention, and the mind-boggling cosplays in the lobby of the Atlanta Marriott, I'd say that's the experience I most want to repeat.

I think it helped that I avoided all the media panels, and the signing queues (although I do kind of wish I'd gone to get Rachel Luttrell's signature), and just mostly hung out with friends and did the writing seminar. I'd love to do it again, though! Hopefully meeting more people, now that my fandom interaction base has grown...

Or, you know, any convention where I can hole up with a bunch of other fannish people, write all day, and cosplay all night... :)

If you could write your own movie for Marvel -- who would make up your cast and what would be a general outline of the movie? Would you set it up for sequels, or maybe go the trilogy route?

Okay, I'd go trilogy route, because, hey, TRILOGY. (Plus, we really need more stories about women. Lots more stories.

Whew! I spent most of the day putting this together, reading up character bios in the films and working out which characters could do what...

ETA: ...and I just saw the news about the Peggy Carter TV series. Almost certainly would go a very different direction.
