In my more encouraging moments, I cling to the bits that have been said so far:

1. That Teyla is going nowhere.
2. That there's at least one episode about her.
3. That the introduction of Alison Porter has nothing to do with Teyla.
4. That Rachel Luttrell is happy with where Teyla is going.

On the other hand, Joe Mallozzi being as twisty as he is, there are ways around each of those statements.

1. Teyla has gone nowhere - for the last four seasons.
2. One episode? I'm sorry, how many episodes are about Rodney The Great and Yabbery?
3. The introduction ofAlison Porter may have nothing to do with Teyla, in the same way that Ronon's introduction had nothing to do with Aiden's leaving the team. It wasn't Ronon's fault that Aiden left, but Ronon still replaced him on the team.
4. It may very well be that Rachel Luttrell wants to be more of a mum to her bubs - so it's possible that she's content with less episodes and less screentime.

My best-case scenario is that Teyla is a participant (emphasis on participant) in her own escape (rather than rescue) from Michael, and that she plays a key, integral, active (emphasis on active) part in the action in Season Five, whatever her status as a mother.

My worst-case scenario is that something happens to Teyla in The Queen that effectively neutralises her or makes her the enemy. She will then be absent from the next dozen episodes, appearing in the last couple of arc-eps to have a change of heart through the (so totally not colonialist) power of Superior Earth Understanding.

Also, a meta that I never linked to from here: Teyla: A Transgressive Female Character.
