General notes:
I'm almost always about the female characters. I have my favourites and they're always the least-favourite characters of the fandom, so if you are able to write a story that's about them I will love and adore you big-time, but I'm happy with any story that allows the characters I've listed to be awesome.
Probably the thing that I love most about the women I've listed below is that their primary designation is not 'female' - that is, their canon stories don't revolve around them being women. They're people who are doing a job (and all of them are doing it well) and who happen to be female, with all that entails.
Basically, treat the women right, and I'm a happy recip!
More generally, my preferred stories are ones which detail a journey, whether it's an emotional development for the character, or the development of a relationship (either romantic or not), or a situation that requires resolution. However, as I said above, if you're writing a story for my favourite characters, I'm not going to be fussy!

Agents of SHIELD - Maria Hill, Antoine Triplett, Melinda May's mom, Akela Amador, Victoria Hand
Optional ideas: A story with any and/or all of the above interacting? If you want Maria to be the new head of SHIELD, go for it! If you want to work out a way to keep Victoria Hand alive, then do so! If you want to tell me the story of Akela Amador hunting HYDRA agents, then be my guest!
If we matched on Triplett and/or Melinda May's mom, then pretty much any backstory for them would be neat, although I'd particularly love to see either of them interacting with Maria - she had no hesitation about working with Trip in 1.20, and is known to Melinda's mom.
Pacific Rim - any woman
Frankly, any backstory or forestory that you care to give - interaction with Mako a plus, although the story should be more about the rare female character than not. My OTP in this fandom is Mako/Raleigh, so if you're writing future stories then keep them together (maybe have commentary on them?). I also prefer the dead to stay dead. I don't want "everyone lives" AUs please.
If you want to create an AU where all the female characters are the ones who survive and thrive and fight - I would read that like burning. LIKE. BURNING.

Angela Hansen, Caitlin Lightcap, Kaori Jessop: anything about who they were, how they worked in the world - from their own POV or the POV of those around them, who loved them and helped them be.
Vanessa Gottlieb: what kind of woman does it take to see more in Hermann Gottlieb? He would have his demons; what demons does she have?
An Yuna and Pang-So Yi: any time during the war or after - how they met? How they discovered they were Drift compatible? Nova Hyperion's Greatest Arguments in the cockpit and out!
Alison Choi: "She loved me; her boyfriend not so much." Spin me a story about the kind of woman who would go out with Tendo while still with someone else (which, btw, would totally be a pre-Knifehead Tendo move IMO).
Luna Pentecost & Tamsin Sevier: I like the idea of these two as friends, dealing with Stacker, the way they trust each other, what they think of working in the boys' club. If you want to make them lovers, then that's fine, too, but either way, I'd love to see the dynamic between them and how Stacker's a part of that.
Marvel Cinematic Universe - Maria Hill, Peggy Carter
Chances are that Maria came into SHIELD just as Peggy left it. But I'd like you to write me a connection between the two women - an interaction, a mentorship - some kind of friendship dynamic between two women who are seventy years apart but very much along the same lines of personality and drive.
Sanctuary - Kate Freelander, Declan MacRae
These two! Dealing with their respective members of the Five, coping with the situations that crop up, doing so with humour and practicality. I don't mind a relationship between them, or friendship or fuck-buddies, or even just two exhausted employees of the Sanctuary sitting down and going "OMG WTF how the hell do you manage it?" to each other!
Twelfth Night - Viola, Orsino
Open slather. During the play, after the play, whatever you like, so long as you maintain their relationship with each other as in canon. Perhaps a look into the complexity of relationships post-play? Viola and her relationship with Sebastian, her friendship with Olivia (who actually fell in love with Viola and not Sebastian), and how she copes with being a woman in Orsino's court and no longer a man?

My favourite characters in the MCU are almost universally women. Primarily Maria Hill, but also Skye, Melinda May, Pepper, Peggy, Sif, and Jane. That's not to say that I don't like other female characters like Natasha, but there's so much Natasha fic already that I don't really want more.
So give me the women interacting with each other women. My preference is for interaction with Maria, but I'd love the dynamic between Skye and Melinda, or Sif and Jane. Did Peggy mentor Melinda or Maria? Both of them at different stages? How about Maria and how Melinda's mom knows her? Personal and private, or public and professional. Friendship, hateship, casefic, anything you please!
If you like writing pairings, then I'm mostly het pairings: Maria Hill/Steve Rogers, Maria Hill/Bucky Barnes, Maria Hill/Rhodey Rhodes - post-CA2 would be great! I like their personalities and I'm curious to see how you'd write the process of them coming together.
If you want to do a complete AU, then I'm good with that, so long as you keep in mind that the characters are who they are, and don't squish them into roles for which they're unsuited just to put them in the AU world.

I'd like the story to about the friendship of any of the characters with Mako - whichever is your favourite. And no matter what relationship/story you choose I don't want any Chuck/Raleigh at all - not even a background hint. I don't care if it's your OTP; it's my NoTP and keep it out of my giftfic, please.
If you're writing in the post-movie canon, let the dead remain dead.
