So this is the year I go out on a limb. None of the usual suspects, a bunch of fandoms that I've never seen stories in, never read nor written, but would love to receive!

This year, I've been pretty brief on the requests, largely because these are fandoms I've never asked for before (with, perhaps, the exception of Ultimate Spider-Man) and I'm just a little curious to see what you'd do with these fandoms that we share.

likes

I like female characters who do their own thing and male characters who love them because they know their own minds and aren't threatened by their choices. I like action-adventure, slice-of-life, drama, conflict resolution, and negotiation. Family - blood or found - is something that I adore, along with friendships, particularly between female characters, but also the friends-to-lovers scenario. Happy or hopeful endings, heroes generally behaving like heroes - the characters I've mentioned being the hero. Also, female agency - the story hinging on the choices or action of female characters is my catnip.

For Yuletide, I'd prefer the characters in their 'native' setting unless I've specified AUs for them. I don't mind AUs, but this year I mostly I want the characters where they're at, either in their canonical situations or else in an extrapolation/continuation of them.

DNWs
Character death, dubcon, non-con, incest, abusive situations veneered as okay, if racism or sexism occurs from the 'hero' characters then I'd like it noted and/or confronted, and while sex is part of life and living and presumably part of these characters' lives, I don't want full-on smut, thanks.

Women's Hockey RPF
Amanda Kessel

I came to Amanda Kessel from Hockey RPF, specifically Amanda Kessel/Sid Crosby, and I rather liked what I read, the idea of Amanda as an athlete but one who's had to deal with past/ongoing injury (I kind of can sympathise).

If you want to write me a story about her, her family, her friends, the hockey world she inhabits, I'm good with that! If you want to do some kind of AU where she and her world slot into something sci-fi, like Pacific Rim or Stargate Atlantis or the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then that would also be pretty hilarious.

Frankly, I'm okay with whatever you come up with - whatever Amanda Kessel-centric Story Of Your Heart you've been longing to write, although I'd prefer gen and friendship to het/femmeslash, but if you're going het/femmeslash, go easy on the smut.

Bourne (Damon movies)
Jason Bourne, Nicky Parsons

Nicky - I particularly love her as this character who's as much of a cypher as Bourne in many ways, although she seems content where she is for the most part. What has she seen and done in her time with Treadstone/BlackBriar/the Project?

I'm most interested in the first trilogy of movies and would really like something set in that time period. Action-oriented, or a slice of life, secrets revealed, history repeated - something that studies the dynamic between them then and now?

I do ship Nicky/Jason, both past and present, and I'd love it if you gave them a happy-for-now ending like Marta/Aaron. If that's not your thing, then friendship/partnership is perfectly okay between them.

S.W.A.T. (2003)
Chris Sanchez, Jim Street

I loved the dynamic between them in the movie - friendly, but still with a possibility of more. Street sees Sanchez as a person and a cop and I rather think she likes the way he just takes things as they come - and a smart mouth (after all, she's got one of her own if her confrontation with Gamble is any indication). Friendship or sexual relationship, fuck-buddies, single motherhood and singlehood, family and found-family (Sanchez would have to have had a pretty solid family behind her to be where she is with a daughter like that, and I like that idea). Bring in anyone else from the movie that you like with the exception of Brian Gamble.

I have toyed with the idea of these two as a couple for years, but never actually been inspired to do anything with them. However, I really liked them as friends, too - possibly friends-with-benefits, although I see it more as a "we're attracted, but we're not gonna do anything about it" kind of vibe.

Bring in Hondo and the rest of the SWAT team as you please, but I'm not into Street/Gamble - that's not my reading.

The Shadow (1994)
Lamont Cranston, Margo Lane

I was never quite satisfied with this movie, and always wanted a more "Together, They Fight Crime" kind of story from it. How much of her own gifts does Margo know? Where do they take her in the course of her association with Lamont? How does she help his work? How does she cross his lines? How do they mesh together in their work?

Either way, I'd like Margo being her own woman, and Lamont having to learn how to deal with a woman who knows her own mind quite well.

Shadow Of The Moon - M.M.Kaye
Alex Randall, Winter de Ballasteros

I don't even know what to ask for this. I read the book when I was 12ish and loved it. Admittedly, there's a certain amount of exoticism to the descriptions of India, but I also enjoyed the way that Winter fit into the landscape of India - a half-Spaniard daughter with a childhood in India before being brought to England to live with her relatives, and returning to the country she thinks of as 'home'. That syncretism of blood and custom that resulted in her and her attitude towards both Indian and English.

I guess I could sum it up in "Moar, pls?" The next chapter of their lives? Alex and Winter working to restore order in Lunjore? The risks and dangers of white British rule in a land that's now seen what they can be if they rebel? I don't know. Whatever you want to write for these two, so long as they're together, I'm good with that.

Ultimate Spider-Man
Maria Hill

So. Maria Hill. What kind of disillusionment has she gone through to end up in the police force? How does she choose to trust Miles (I would prefer her to be interacting with Miles Spidey, not Peter), and what echoes does she see in him from her past? How does she resolve her hardboiled, world-weary detective with the determination of the Spidey-gang to do good? (Does she?)

I don't really mind what other characters you bring in, so long as the story centers around Maria.

Ultimately, dear Yulegoat, I want you to enjoy writing for me, so don't stress too much. These are just ideas that I have, and I'm not attached to them. If you can write my optional details without twisting your brain in knots, go for it! If you can't, then focus on the characters I've talked about and write your thing. It'll be good.
