Some of these prompts and requests for recs are crazy and elaborate. Please don't feel you need to hit it out of the ballpark! I love anything that's written for me, but the longer prompts might give you an insight into what I think and how I feel about the fandom, the characters, and the pairings that I've listed.

That said, if you want to write or draw a sweet little moment, I am here for it, and will be delighted!

MCU

I have issues with how it turned out, but I really liked the characters and the situations they found themselves in. I just...tend to dislike how the PTB resolved it!

Stargate Atlantis

I loved the possibliities of this show - a new universe, a group of people who were severed from Earth, required to make their way through a new universe...

...it didn't quite end up that way, did it?

I really liked where the SGA book series 'Legacy' took the storylines: compromises, working out how to live with the Wraith, and even with visceral disagreement on how they should deal with the Wraith. It was nuanced and complex and wonderful.

Merlin

I never watched beyond Season 3, and I hear it ended badly. Basically, skip the bad ending and go for the quartet.

Gwen/Arthur

• friendship and romance between disparate positions: how does a king/prince woo someone so beneath his station without crossing any lines of responsibility and power

• one of the things I enjoyed about the 'Lancelot' storyline (what I saw of it, which was up to end of S3 and not beyond) was that they made it clear that Gwen liked and was attracted to both men, but that she (variously) made her choices as best she saw them at the specific situation of the moment

Gwen & Merlin

• I always wanted a story where Gwen found out about Merlin's magic ahead of everyone else
• friendship and practicality as servants

Gwen & Morgana

• maid and mistress: the early season relationship between these two was lovely, even as it seemed to devolve in later seasons; can you bring something of that back?

Gwen, Arthur, Merlin, & Morgana

• friendship
• the four of them working together in the united Albion that was promised

Angel: the series

I watched Seasons 1, most of 2, and Season 4. I know what happened in the sections between and the ending, but the parts that I was most interested in were mostly to do with Faith and her presence in Los Angeles, the way she tied the team together when they were hunting Angelus, and how she and Wes worked together.

I liked the idea of the team working at Wolfram & Hart, but not the way it panned out in the end. Whedon has a bad habit of giving nice things with one hand and taking them away with the other.

• the excess Slayer and the unwanted Watcher, long after they've dealt with what they are (and aren't), working together, hunting together, living together

• in spite of all the issues I have with this pairing, I still love it and desperately want them to have a happy ending of some kind

BSG

I loved this show but it was frustrating in so many ways. I feel like everyone just followed their worst behaviour, time and time again. All the bad choices, all the despair, all the death and destruction and no good endings.

If you have recs for good canon-divergent AUs for this, particularly ones that follow my favourites below, I would love to hear them! I have never been able to wade into the fandom, and even now years later, I shudder at the thought of having to sift through everything to find something good. My patience is not that strong.

Favourite Character: Lee Adama, Kara Thrace (it's pretty even between these two)

Other Pairings: Karl/Athena, Laura/Bill, I didn't mind Lee/Dee or Kara/Anders so much except that the dynamics felt badly handled.

Firefly

This is another fandom where I'll take recs for long, plotty fics that diverge from canon and take the characters onwards through the 'verse. If anyone wrote a 'Virtual Series' that had the tenor and tone of the series, developed the relationships, and elaborated on the mysteries in people's backgrounds (Book's possible military history, fr ex) then I will lap it up. I just...don't want pairings other than the 'canonical' ones: Mal/Inara, Kaylee/Simon. Zoe/Wash.

I liked the crew all together, for different reasons, in manageable doses. Too much of any of them and the balance was lost. And not too much Jayne - I was never fond of the character in the first place, and Adam Baldwin has not endeared himself in the years between.

These last two are waaaaaay out of left field, but that's okay. I might someday get lucky!

Dragon Star - Melanie Rawn
