Bones is a partnership with an underlying romantic angle.

Castle is a romance with an overarching partnership angle.

Still have to watch Bones S5 and S6, and Castle S3.5 and S4...

Bones is very hit and miss. This one was a hit.

I watched five minutes of the next one, and it was a miss. *waves hand* I'll get around to watching it sometime, I guess.

What I really want is to see the one after the one on the plane with spoiler for Bones 4.11 )

Now I'm watching Sanctuary: Fata Morgana. And watching Amanda Tapping dissecting an 'abnormal' with all the care with which one carves up the Sunday roast. Anyone for rare?

spoiler for Sanctuary )

Tonight, I watched the most recent episode of Bones with [livejournal.com profile] arabel, who's only seen a handful of early episodes and didn't mind what she saw. We weren't very impressed. It doesn't help that [livejournal.com profile] arabel's in graphic design by trade, knows a lot of artists, and really hated the extreme wankiness of the artists portrayed in the episode.

Then, we went and watched the S2 episode The Judas On A Pole. And within five minutes, she turned to me and said, "It's a completely different show!" And it was.

The writing was tight, the plot was engaging, the acting was subtle, the team was wonderful and worked. Brennan wasn't a socially maladjusted nerd - yes, she wasn't always fully with it, but she wasn't so socially stupid - that was left to Zack, who did a much better job of it.

*sigh*

This wasn't a fantastic, awesome, amazing episode, but it wasn't a bad one either. I don't know that there've been any bad episodes of Bones ever, come to think of it.

thoughts on Bones 4.03 - The Episode With The Annoying Grad Assistant )

I could rewatch this...as long as I silenced the sound anytime the grad student turned up.

Sent out the [livejournal.com profile] john_teyla_fic assignments. Phew!

I should probably have asked for people to email back that they'd received their assignment, shouldn't I? Bah.

Anyway, that's done.

Bones is watched.

[livejournal.com profile] sgabigbang has been put on hiatus while I try to deal with [livejournal.com profile] reel_sga. It's proving more difficult than I expected. They always do.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] greenconverses? This should be right up your alley: [livejournal.com profile] ontd_twatlight! Prepare to be dazzled! (Although the sparkly font is making me want to kill-kill-kill-kill-kill...)

AUTHOR'S NOTES: Written for the [livejournal.com profile] femme_fic ficathon, to [livejournal.com profile] rolleson's request of Sam Carter and Temperance Brennan from Stargate SG1 and Bones. It's been years since I put this much effort into something from another fandom, and it's certainly been an education!

My betas, [livejournal.com profile] grav_ity and [livejournal.com profile] rodlox, were magnificent and helped out significantly with the archaeological/anthropological side of things. Extreme thanks goes to my sister who gave me her anatomy textbook from which I researched my anatomical anthrobabble, even if she'll never read this entry or this story!
