All I can say is that it didn't come across like that to me. I really don't like to pull out my "person of color" card, but, well, I am. But that's not what informs the way I live. So, like I said, once they scene was describes, I knew exactly what they were talking about but I mean, come on. Though I recognize that there are racial stereotypes propogated with characters of color in sci-fi. . . Hmm. . .I don't want to say that some people are overly sensitive. . .

I glanced at some of the comment on the link you referenced. I'm just baffled by the fact that people think because someone like "Jason Momoa isn't black, he's Hawaiian", that makes it ok. I'm pretty sure the person who called him black used the term to mean someone obviously not white. In an interview Jason even said, "I'm not white at all." Even though we know that his mother is white, he's going to always be seen for his "other side" and he recognized that.

I don't know where I'm going with this really. There was a point somewhere in there that got lost on a tangent. *shrug* Personally, I wish the fight had been longer. I think a great deal was edited out for the sake of time. The scene was there to prove a point to the fans. I didn't realize how many people were comparing Ronon to Teal'c to the point that they had to have an episode dedicated to it. LOL. I mean, really, the only thing I see they have in common is that they're both aliens working for SGC, but their personalities are totally different.
