It's sort of interesting working through Fringe and seeing how it's a more standard telling of the 'man walks into the Underworld' storyline - also Sanctuary's premise.

Fringe is more standard than Sanctuary, because the focus is the everyman character - Olivia - while Sanctuary is focused on the mentor-of-the-everyman - Helen. It's less standard than the usual telling of the 'man walks into the Underworld' storyline because the person walking into the Underworld of Fringe is actually a woman.

Anyway, this ramble was brought to you by a post on DW: [personal profile] newredshoes' explanation of why you should watch Fringe.

I agree with all of it and direct you there if you've ever considered watching Fringe and wondered why you should.

Fringe is the only show outside of Food Network that I'm actively watching right now. I'm a little, er, nervous, to see how they tie up season three (though I absolutely loved the last episode), but it always keeps you on your toes. :D :D

And Astrid. Dude. Astrid. She is ♥
