NOTES: A pinch-hit for [livejournal.com profile] kristen999 in the 2008 John&Teyla Thing-A-Thon over at [livejournal.com profile] john_teyla_fic. She wanted 'action, strength, physical comfort', 'Both having to protect the other or Both being soldiers' and 'Fierce!Teyla, vulnerable or hurt John'. I'm so sorry for the delay over even getting even this much out.

TITLE: Every Day Is Another Tomorrow
SUMMARY: It's not what they expected when they came from Earth; it's a whole lot better.
RATING: PG-13
CHARACTERS: Teyla, Cameron, Ronon, John, Rodney
SPOILERS: nothing beyond The Runner, I think.
WORD COUNT: ~2,700
NOTES: For the [livejournal.com profile] sga_flashfic 'role reversal' challenge. Warning - it's slightly brain-breaking. I wanted to write the characters as who they currently are, but in different roles without rewriting their personalities, so things may seem a little skewy...

The dark grey arch of the Stargate looms over the organised mayhem taking place in the embarkation room of the SGC, women and men weaving in and out, in a confusing warp and weft of packing and loading, finding and arguing.

NOTES: This is the calm before the storm hits in the next section. And it's a big storm. I'm a little freaked at the magnitude of it! The next chapter probably won't be out for a while, though - I'm trying to finish off my [livejournal.com profile] sgabigbang in the meantime. Title: I Am Legend
Author: Tielan
Summary: A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, a boy grows to manhood in the city of Atlantis.
Characters: Teyla, John, Ronon, Rodney
Rating: PG-13
Beta: [livejournal.com profile] caladria at the 11th hour (it really is 11pm here)!
Notes: I haven't written for the [livejournal.com profile] sga_flashfic challenge in a while because I kept missing the deadlines - as I nearly did for this one! My original idea for this featured Atlantis telling Teyla's son bedtime stories from their various cultures and I might still do that story at a later stage - but I ended up stretching the idea of 'fairy tales' into 'fairy tales, myths, legends, and tales told by firelight'.

There are a thousand places a young boy can wander in the city. Atlantis is a constant adventure, and shaking off his watchers and wardens is a constant challenge.

CATEGORY: crackerrific AU, four queens, action
RATING: PG-13
DISCLAIMER: Not my characters, making no money from them.
NOTES: An AU that I 'finished' about three-four months ago, but which needed some polishing and putting together. A birthday gift for [livejournal.com profile] greenconverses, since [livejournal.com profile] sjhw_tolerance doesn't read AUs (and she's already got a penguin, anyway)! Enjoy!

SUMMARY: What if the Wraith had never existed?
CATEGORY: AU, gen
RATING: PG-13
DISCLAIMER: Stargate Atlantis, it's characters and situations, are not mine but MGM, Gekko Productions, and possibly other companies. I'm using them without permission and without intent to profit.
NOTES: I posted the first chapter of this story a couple of months back in a Flashfic challenge. I'm still working on it, although it's slow-going right now with everything else. But this is my 'easy' story - as compared to Big Bang, which is being difficult.

I haven't had time to go through a lot of the stories yet - mostly because I'm still trying to finish off the ones I owe.

From the [livejournal.com profile] femme_fic ficathon:
(these are just the Stargate favourites with more to come later as I read through the non-Stargate categories)

Dry City by [livejournal.com profile] allisnow
[Gen/UST: Laura Cadman, Evan Lorne]
Set during The Return, Laura's finding it hard to adjust to life back on Earth. I love the characterisation, the difficulty Laura's having getting used to the ordinary world.

Ancient Sounds And Floating Images by [livejournal.com profile] noafterglow
[Gen/UST: Teyla Emmagan, John Sheppard, assorted other characters.]
I love this story because it actually does something with Teyla during the 2nd half of Season Four - something that's specific to her, her people, and her people's history. Has a touch of Teyla-angst, and assumes that the Athosians didn't just spring into existence at the moment the Atlantis expedition showed up.

Weak Spot by [livejournal.com profile] rolleson
[Het: Teyla Emmagan/John Sheppard]
This is an adorable, fluffy little fic. Teyla teaches women's self-defence classes in Atlantis.

Transitions by [livejournal.com profile] kiarasayre
[Gen: Sam Carter, Daniel Jackson]
Light humour, some action, and the last intended mission of SG1...slightly different to how they expected it to end.

And the story that was written for me!

Time To Howl by [livejournal.com profile] sehkmetenkare.
[Buffy The Vampire Slayer, gen, Faith Lehane, Buffy Summers]
I was watching Salvage, Release, and Orpheus the other night and was thinking sadly of just how much Faith rocked in the later seasons, and how much I regret that she didn't get her own series. This is early Faith - S3 Buffy - so she's still running wild, but I loved the tone of it, the edgy voice of Faith, footloose and guilt-free.

From the [livejournal.com profile] sga_genficathon:
(authors not included because we don't yet know who they are)

The Great Pegasus Train Robbery
Personally, I think this should be called "The Adventures Of Calamity John And His Merry Band Of Failed Thieves". A little crazy, but amusing.

Mea Culpa.
I love this story. Ronon and Rodney get captured and tortured by a madman; John and Teyla nearly go mad trying to find them. The balance of relationships is perfect, and the characterisation excellent. Dark John, Teyla as his anchor of sanity while trying to manage her own pain and loss, Rodney and Ronon both snapping at each other and keeping each other focused. What I love most about it, though, is that this fic illustrates how John's whole team is important to him. In this story, it's clearly not just meaningless words to the author but something to hang her pen by. All the more worth reccing for its rarity.

Rites Of Passage
A return to the children of M7G-677, and the politics of leadership there. I like stories that delve back into the consequences of interference in the galaxy. It's not a theme that the show generally follows - and when it does, the consequences are usually defanged, played down, or glossed over - so it's a pleasure to see it directly addressed in fanfic.

Into The Woods
Rodney McKay. Comes with a return policy. Good thing, too!

Light Up, Light Up
A marvellous story about so many more people on Atlantis than just the team. I love the team and I don't deny that; but I love it when other authors are capable of fleshing out the 'little people' in the city, their backgrounds, their lives, their loves and hates and interactions with the 'hero' characters. This one is utterly brilliant and beautiful and painful - like something haunting and aching and yet still clung to. Bittersweet.

Title: More Gamblers Than Avarice
Recipient: [livejournal.com profile] ileliberte
Author: Tielan
Characters: Ronon, Teyla
Prompt: Ronon & Teyla, friendship
Category: gen, vignette, missing scenes
Rating: PG-13, no warnings
Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] ileliberte in the [livejournal.com profile] ronon_love thing-a-thon! Ronon was actually much harder to write than I thought - probably because the theme was more introspective than is usual for my writing about him. And it probably didn't help that I restarted this story about four times before I hit on the final iteration. Immense thanks go out to [livejournal.com profile] greenconverses, who listened to me whine and whine and whine about my troubles in writing this, and [livejournal.com profile] ladyjax, who helped me nut out some character ideas when I was dry.

CATEGORY: vignette, challenge

TITLE: Pegasus Ascendant
AUTHOR: Tielan
SUMMARY: What if the Wraith had never existed?
CATEGORY: AU, gen
RATING: G
NOTES: Written for the [livejournal.com profile] sga_flashfic 'Second Verse' challenge with some serious reduxing being done here. I've always wanted to write this kind of story, flipping everything on its head. It's been great to actually be challenged to do so!

There's probably more coming - I have a storyline laid out, whether I continue it mostly depends on whether I can find the time to develop it properly.
