TITLE: Pandora's Box
SUMMARY: A mission goes to hell and John is injured, requiring his team to hold it - and John - together.
RATING: PG-13
CATEGORY: Team, Action/Adventure, Hurt/Comfort, Friendship
WARNINGS: (highlight to see) a fairly bloody injury
DISCLAIMER: Not mine, making no money, please don't sue.
NOTES: For [livejournal.com profile] tepring in the [livejournal.com profile] sheppard_hc Christmas exchange! I'm so sorry this is late - it was done by Sunday night, but then my first two betas fell through, so I had to go hunting up a third option! I hope you enjoy the fic!

TITLE: Momma Always Said There'd Be Days Like These
SUMMARY: There were no sneering comments about feminine weakness or snide remarks about the failings of women in the field, and Teyla was extremely glad of it.
RATING: PG-13
CATEGORY: AU, action/adventure, drama, friendship, team
DISCLAIMER: Not mine, making no money, etc.
NOTES: For [livejournal.com profile] sga_saturday's Amnesty Week, to their week 12 prompt 'cycle'. At first I was surprised that nobody even mentioned or hinted at this as a possible use for the word 'cycle'. And then I realised that, given fandom's proclivities, not really that surprising at all. This is a sequel of sots to my fic 'Every Day Is Another Tomorrow' but you don't have to read that one first to get this. It may be a little brain-breaky at first, though, so handle with caution!

When Teyla comes in to breakfast, the doors to the balcony are propped open, and a nauseating stench of rancid meat and burned porridge fills the room.

Title: Aiden Ford And The Dinorama
Summary: It's not every day you discover that you're king of the dinosaurs...
Category: Team, humor, friendship, off-world, drama.
Disclaimer: Not mine, making no money, etc.
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Notes: Written for the [livejournal.com profile] sga_genficathon 2011, for the genre 'team' and to the prompt of 'dinosaurs'. You have no idea how many iterations of this story I went through - including a Losers AU where Ford is the guy in charge of transport and keeps plastic dinosaurs as his mascots (shades of Hoburn Washburn)... Ah well. It was not to be.

Instead, you get Season One team. :)

But no Season One team icon, alas. :(

TITLE: In The Game: No Points For Stupidity
SUMMARY: John knows Teyla isn't going to like this, but it's not about her. Really.
RATING: PG-13
CATEGORY: crackerrific, high school AU, drama, action/adventure, angst.
DISCLAIMER: Not mine, making no money, etc.
WORDCOUNT: 3127
NOTES: So, this is from the ages-old High School AU I wrote back in 2007-ish. I blame its resurgence on [livejournal.com profile] ninja007 for asking for 'John and Michael fighting over Teyla'. She actually wanted it from The Prodigal but that wasn't going to happen. So, it was back to the high school AU and one of the ending scenes...

Rodney's a chameleon, Ronon's a horse. Teyla has too much hair, and John's going to get his ass kicked if he doesn't stop laughing. Never let it be said that [livejournal.com profile] ileliberte doesn't bring the crack!

Psst! John! In this incarnation, she's got a FRYPAN...

I needed a good laugh today after writing 5,000 words to an SGA AU, to add to the 2,000 I wrote yesterday, and the 4,000 I wrote the day before that.

And I still don't know if I'm signed up for the challenge because the mod's gone AWOL...

TITLE: The Good Guys
SUMMARY: They're the good guys. Don't get on their bad side.
CATEGORY: AU, team, crackerrific crossover
WORD COUNT: 5,714
RATING: PG-13
NOTES: Written for the [livejournal.com profile] sga_genficathon, which just went un-anon! I took some liberties with the prompt "Buyer beware" after [livejournal.com profile] arabel suggested: "biting off more than you can chew" as an approximation of the prompt. And then things just...uh...kinda got outta hand. (As they do with these characters.) Thank to [personal profile] ailelie, who was extremely helpful in beta! The quotations are from 'Murphy's Laws of War'. Interpret them as you will!

And yes, the poster is imitated from here. I tried putting Atlantis in the background, but it proved too much for my limited photoshopping skillz.

TITLE: A Kingdom, Broken - Part Two
SUMMARY: Their goal was always to defeat the Wraith - or, at least, to find a way by which Pegasus could live without the shadow of the Wraith over them. But there could be no great success without an equally great price.
CATEGORY: action-adventure, drama
RATING: PG-13
SPOILERS: Much of it occurs after Enemy At The Gates, but no major spoilers.
NOTES: You know, once - just once - I would like to write a simple romance. Boy meets girl, boy and girl get it on like bunnies, happy ending. Obviously, this is not that story.

Still for the We'll Always Have Pegasus challenge at lostcityfound. And, um, yeah, the story is still going. I'm sorry about the month's delay between Part 1 and Part 2 - it's...well, it's been a rough time writing and I've let myself get distracted. I promise to provide a 'finish' at the end of Part 3, such that it isn't absolutely necessary for me to write the Bloody Epic that my muse thinks would be lots of fun to write.

It may be several weeks before I finish Part 3, I'm afraid, primarily due to my attempt to write something for Valentine's Day. (It's still an attempt right now, we'll see if it becomes an actuality before next Saturday, although I'm kinda doubting it.)

In the meantime...

"I loved two men/A kingdom broke for it."
~Guy Gavriel Kay, "Guinevere at Amesbury"~
This is Part 1, with Part 2 to follow next week. I've decided to make a fierce effort to post something every week. I can't guarantee I'll always have something, but I'll do my best! This hasn't been beta'd, though, so any errors or plotholes are mine and I apologise for them.

CATEGORY: gen, hurt/comfort, team

NOTES: Written for [livejournal.com profile] kristen999 in the [livejournal.com profile] sheppard_hc Secret Santa 2008. ~11,000 words and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to get the damn thing out! Definitely a fascinating prompt to write for, but not an easy one by a long shot.

So much thanks to my alphas and betas: [livejournal.com profile] live_brave, [livejournal.com profile] mahoni, and [livejournal.com profile] aurora_novarum, who were helpful and encouraging and brilliant. I could never have finished this without you!

TITLE: Of Colonels and Cattle
SUMMARY: "Wait, you're telling me that we're here to negotiate Colonel Sheppard's stud fees?"
RATING: PG-13
CHARACTERS: team, Alicia Vega, Amelia Banks, 2 OCs.
CATEGORY: Humour, team.
RECIPIENT: Written for [livejournal.com profile] tanaquisga in the [livejournal.com profile] sga_santa challenge: she wanted gen, team, diplomatics, alliances, witty/snarky dialogue, or a story that explored the charcter back-stories.
NOTES: Oh, how I struggled with this. And struggled. And then struggled some more. My problem wasn't the request per se, so much as that I wasn't quite in the right space to write the request she wanted. I was really, really hoping to get a John/Teyla themed request, but I think a grand total of three people optioned John/Teyla, and they were handed to others.

I'm really glad that [livejournal.com profile] mad_maudlin was handed [livejournal.com profile] vipersweb's request, though, because without it, we'd never have gotten "Heternomativity", which is mensa AU, fantastically written, and utterly hilarious, even if I find it slightly OOC, even as it manages to stay IC. (No, I know that sentence doesn't make sense. I can't explain it. It's both right and wrong at the same time and...oh, heck. I'm just going to stop here and say that you should spare an hour and read it, because it's long, it's well-written, it's freaking AWESOME, and it's John/Teyla. And don't tell me you don't like John/Teyla, because this story, you will!)

For those who love team and John and Rodney getting it about Pegasus, I point you to "The Truth About Alliances" by [livejournal.com profile] vipersweb. If you love Pegasus and all it's wild, wild array of possibility and character and culture, plus teamyness, and John/Teyla that works within their canon characterisation and within the storylines of S5, you'll like this one. Go and read!

(Yes, that was just a massive rec at the tail end of my fic post.)

*coughs* Ultimately, the story I wrote this year wasn't quite as good as I was hoping it would be, but that often happens - more often than not, lately. Hoever, quite a few new people (ie. not people who usually comment on my work) commented on this story, so I reached a new audience, which is always a yay! experience.

NOTES: For the [livejournal.com profile] sgahcchallenges "Pure Dialogue" round of Last-Fic-Writer-Standing. The object was to write a story only in dialogue, with no scene setters at all. I didn't get voted off the island this week, but I suspect this was more because I didn't commit the more egregious of grammatical errors.
