I'm not very good about posting fic to LJ anymore, mostly because I don't think too many of you are here for the fic.

Anyway, four fics - one of them a WIP, three in a series (you don't have to read the others in the series, but it helps). All at AO3.

These three are in the 'Meeting Halfway' series - 30 Days of Steve/Maria OTP (I took a break over Christmas).

TITLE: The More Loving One
SUMMARY: There have been moments since that night out with Clint, Natasha and the other agents – and particularly since the night in Vegas – when Steve feels a little like Maria Hill's dirty little secret. Sleeping with a fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agent is perfectly acceptable, but fucking an Avenger? No, Maria wouldn't do that.

TITLE: Some Of Us Hover While We Weep For The Other
SUMMARY: The prince ends up with the princess - that's how it works in all the fairytales, right? He doesn't end up with the bitch - and Maria's never been anything but the bitch.

TITLE: Gathered Contrasts
SUMMARY: Steve wants to draw her like this – half-dressed, working, eating – intimate and aloof, professional and sensual, focused and casual, exquisitely beautiful and utterly businesslike – all the contrasts of Maria Hill gathered into a single pose.

NOTES: I think those three tags pretty much say everything that needs to be said. Day 13 was 'eating ice-cream' and, yes, it gets eaten. The Porn Battle XIV prompts that I used were lick, food, collar, undress.

Another fusion AU. This time with Nalini Singh's Psy-Changelings universe. Be warned, it's a WIP and I don't know how long it will take since it's not a priority - just a fun diversion.

TITLE: The Gathering Clouds
SUMMARY: Maria had always known that someday that the shambling, soulless creature that returned from Rehabilitation would be her – used one too many times, broken beyond fixing. She'd accepted the eventuality of that end for herself. But for Phil and these children, whose crime was merely to challenge the Psy Council's preconceptions? No. Not while she had breath.

NOTES: I'd really like to hear your opinions on this one if you read it. Largely because I've cannibalised and rearranged whole sections of Ms. Singh's plot re: the Psy, the Changelings, Changeling bondmating (argh soulmates the pain it burns us precious), and pack relationships because, well, you kind of have to do some rearranging if you're going to try to meld two very different canons into one.

Once again, the lynchpin for this AU was Maria. Because she's totes a Psy.

And, yes, Clint and Natasha turn up in this story. (Because someone always asks that question.) Just in a later chapter.

WARNINGS: (highlight to see) There are two scenes involving unwanted sexual advances, both of which are averted.

NOTES: Holy cow, it's done! Three months from inception to completion, and it's been a mad ride all the way. *hugs* I hope you enjoy it!

The Hydra came out of nowhere. They moved through the Territory of SHIELD, killing the Queens of the Blood - the heart of the land - and destroying their courts. For twenty-five years, the land has lain locked in a cold, dark winter, waiting for a Queen to rise up and bring them into day. But when Warlord Prince Nick Fury answers the call of a trusted friend, he discovers a young Queen living alone in the forest, spirited and unbroken, surviving by her wits.

Maria Hill was brought up in a Queen's court, and learned the laws and protocols of the Blood at an early age. But she's been living solitary for the last three years and she likes it - she doesn't want a court, or to rule. She may not have a choice.

The Hydra are making their final push across the land, and if Maria cannot draw a strong court around her to fight them, none of them may survive the onslaught.
